Woman claims defective Sprint cellphone tracking software tells customers that their stolen phones are at her house

New Orleans resident Diana Pierre-Louis filed suit in the Civil District Court of the Parish of Orleans, Louisiana, on March 15, 2012, against Sprint Communications Company, L.P., and ABC Insurance Company (case number 2012-2685).

In her Petition, Pierre-Louis alleges that Sprint negligently equipped its customers' cell phones with a tracking device that erroneously tells customers that their lost or stolen phones are located at Pierre-Louis' residence located at 2567 St. Nick Drive.  Conseqently, owners of lost or stolen phones, some of whom were "infuriated", have appeared at her residence demanding the return of their phones.

Pierre-Louis is represented by the Law Offices of Pius A. Obioha & Associates, L.L.C., and seeks damages for mental anguish, emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life and pursuit of happiness, embarrassment, injury to personal and professional reputation, and court costs.
