US District Court allows suit against Los Angeles Catholic Archdiocese even though all abuse took place outside of U.S.

The U.S. District Court for the Central District of California entered a order allowing a suit to proceed against the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Los Angeles (the "Archdiocese of Los Angeles").  Notably, the suit was brought by a man who claims he was sexually abused by a priest in Mexico as opposed to the U.S.  Because he alleged that the Archdiocese of Los Angeles failed to take steps to prohibit the illegal activity (and instead moved him around to different parishes where he presumably was free to molest other children), the Court found that it had jurisdiction to hear the case.  The case is Doe v. Mahoney, et al. (CV 10-02902-JST).
