Educational Background

Dennis "Neil" Smith, Jr. earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 2000, and earned his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2003.  During law school, he worked at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on issues relating to small businesses and sole proprietorships.  As an undergraduate, he held an executive role in the student government and was a member of the Honor's College.  

Practice of Law

After finishing law school, he represented many of the largest American financial and industrial companies, and litigated cases in more than sixty different counties in the State of Missouri.  He has provided information and legal analysis to news sources including Missouri Lawyers Weekly, The St. Louis Daily Record, The Countian, Fox 2 (St. Louis), NBC KY3 (Springfield, Missouri), and KOLR 10 (Springfield).  Neil also previously served as the head coach of the Missouri State University mock trial team.

Bar Membership and Philanthropy 

Neil is a member in good standing of the Missouri Bar, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL), the Class Action Committee of the American Bar Association, and licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. 

The Smith Law Firm, LLC, regularly contributes to a variety of non-profit and not-for-profit entities, specifically the American Cancer Society, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, San Diego Coastkeeper, and Join Hands, ESL.  The firm also sponsors youth athletic teams and programs.
